JATCO Mexico
JATCO, which stands for Japan Automatic Transmission Co. Ltd., is a Japanese company, leader in the automotive industry, dedicated to the manufacture of Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVT), as well as automatic transmissions.
JATCO is the result of an investment alliance between Nissan Motor Company Ltd, Mitsubishi Motors and Suzuki Motor Corporation.
It has sales offices in Korea, China, Russia, France and the United States, research centers in Japan (headquarters), the United States, Korea, France, Spain and China, and manufacturing plants in Japan, China, Thailand and Mexico.
JATCO Mexico was JATCO's first manufacturing complex outside of Japan, dedicated especially to the manufacture of CVT's, forming the first plant in 2003 and starting production in 2005, in the state of Aguascalientes.
Subsequently, the second plant was built in 2012, also in the state of Aguascalientes, starting production in 2014.
Worldwide, JATCO has more than 14,800 employees, of which 3,795 currently work in JATCO Mexico.
