January 1970 | Japan Automatic Transmission Co., Ltd, jointly established by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd, Mazda Motor Corporation (after: Toyo Kogyo Co., Ltd) and Ford Motor Company. |

| MITSUBISHI MOTORS CORPORATION is established. |
October 1989
| Japan Automatic Transmission Co., Ltd changes its name to JATCO Corporation. |
June 1999 | Nissan Motor Co., Ltd´s, AT/CVT division, splits off to become TransTechnology Ltd. |
October 1999 | Trans Technology Ltd and JATCO Corporation merge to form JATCO TransTechnology Ltd. |
April 2000 | QS9000 certification is acquired. |
April 2002 |
JATCO TransTechnology Ltd changes its name to JATCO Ltd. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation´s AT / CVT division splits off to become Diamondmatic Co., Ltd.

May 2011 | Received the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (JSAE) Technological Development Award for the development of a new compact, lightweight, fuel-conserving CVT that is the first in the world to have an auxiliary gearbox with JATCO CVT7.

Received the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) Medal for New Technologies for development a 1-motor, 2-clutch parallel full-hybrid system.
