Yoshiwara Plant of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd’s aircraft division begins operations.


January 1970


Japan Automatic Transmission Co., Ltd, jointly established by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd, Mazda Motor Corporation (after: Toyo Kogyo Co., Ltd) and Ford Motor Company.



April 1970


MITSUBISHI MOTORS CORPORATION is established.


October 1989


Japan Automatic Transmission Co., Ltd changes its name to JATCO Corporation.

June 1999


Nissan Motor Co., Ltd´s, AT/CVT division, splits off to become TransTechnology Ltd.


October 1999


Trans Technology Ltd and JATCO Corporation merge to form JATCO TransTechnology Ltd.


April 2000


QS9000 certification is acquired.


April 2002


JATCO TransTechnology Ltd changes its name to JATCO Ltd.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation´s AT / CVT division splits off to become Diamondmatic Co., Ltd.


April 2003


JATCO Ltd merges with Diamondmatic Co., Ltd.


April 2003


JATCO Mexico is established in Mexico.



October 2003


JATCO France SAS is established in France.


May 2004


JATCO Korea Service Corp. is established in Korea.


February 2005


Acquires ISO / TS 16949 certification.

January 2009


Received the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy Director´s General´s Award as an Excellent Energy Management Factory for Fiscal Year 2008.


April 2011


Received the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) Medal for New Technologies for the development of JATCO CVT7, with an ultra-compact auxiliary gearbox, a large gear ratio, and low fuel consumption.


May 2011


Received the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (JSAE) Technological Development Award for the development of a new compact, lightweight, fuel-conserving CVT that is the first in the world to have an auxiliary gearbox with JATCO CVT7.


July 2011


Established a production company in Thailand, JATCO Thailand Co., Ltd (100% capital financing).


April 2012


Received the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) Medal for New Technologies for development a 1-motor, 2-clutch parallel full-hybrid system.


June 2012


Commenced product delivery to JAC Motors (China).


June 2012Commenced product delivery to AvtoVAZ (Russia).
